Treaty acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that the Women’s Art Museum of Canada is located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Métis and Nakota Sioux Nations. We recognize and honour the enduring presence, culture and contributions of these Indigenous peoples.

We also acknowledge that we are all treaty people, sharing responsibility to respect and uphold the treaties and relationships that sustain this land. As a museum dedicated to celebrating women’s art, we commit to fostering inclusion, respect and reconciliation through our work and partnerships with Indigenous communities.
